Welcome Wanderers

Welcome to our thirties,

It's like someone hit the fast forward button bypassing all the nights out, walks of shame, and days of couch dwelling and pressed the play button right where the nights of debauchery ended and the sleepless nights began. Forward.. from when your biggest problem was what to wear and where to eat, becomes why can't I get my child to eat..like anything except bread? Ive been there, hell.. I fell to the floor and collapsed in exhaustion there. But then one day the realization came, the fun didn't stop when I had my daughter.. I stopped having fun. Why? because it was difficult. Difficult to travel, to dine, to exist beyond the realm of the sofa or the sanctuary of my own house. And do you know what made it that way? Fear. Fear of the awkward stares from people when my children made too much noise in public. Fear that my child might have a meltdown and ruin everyone else plain ride..even though I paid for his seat and he had a right to be there. Inherited Fear, passed on from generation to generation of old wive tales (i.e.scare tactic)which feverishly passed from my grandmother to my mothers lips and then right down to me. I was supposed to have children and commit to a life where very thought, action, reaction revolved around my kid. Well, My name is Denise Davies, and truthfully, that life wasn't for me. I travel the world with my kids, is it overwhelming at times?.. yes but, I'm here to tell you it doesn't always have to be. Through our travels, my children have gained culture, perspective, and a sense of where they are at in the world, and how vast it actually is. Knowledge about other cultures that you can probably get from you tube but not likely from a text book. They developed an aptitude for travel, and a love for guess what.. something other than bananas. My 6 year old has Shanghai, Tokyo and New Zealand on her bucket list. My 3 year old wants to go to Africa..something about the hyenas in Lion guard.. I l desist.

This blog is for the Wanderers, those that not only love to experience the best that Life has to offer, but go out and actively explore it. I will never stop wandering, eating, traveling, taking girl trips with my friends but most of all living..If you feel this way.. well then, get comfy.. because this blog is for you.
